Need Help

Hey everyone what up? I am new to this forum. My buddy is wanting to get rid of his 86 Rx7. He is going to sell it to me for $300. I know that is a good deal but i am not to car literate. his car is having some problems. First off the car will crank and run, but when you shut it off you have to wait about 8 hours to start the car again. If you try to do so it will flood the engine. Another friend says if we replace the fuel injectors, pumps, fuel filter we would be good. Just wanted a second opinion on that. Has anyone out there had a similar problem? How did you fix it? Also those parts are kind of expenxive just wandering if there is anyone out there who knows where i can get those parts at a pretty reasonable price? Also the brakes and clutch are shot. I need to replace those looking for reasonable prices on those? Also, do these cars have Idle Air Control? Throttle Position censor? O2 censor? One more thing the reason i am buying this car is because they are bad ***. I would really like to sup this car up. it is not turbo. Looking for a bolt on. I am in serious need of help.

thanks

Welcome to the forum.
First - These is a bug in the computer (ECU) that if you only run the motor for a short time, and shut it off while it's still cold, there is an even chance it will flood. Also worn & dirty injectors will leak down the fuel pressure after shut off.
There is a ton of info on the forum that can be accessed by the search function (way up in the top right corner of the header.)
I have a copy of the manuals on-line in my sig..

A fuel cutoff switch will probably work, but sending the injectors out to be cleaned would be even better. RC Engineering seems to be the popular choice.

And yes, the car does have a throttle sensor, O2 sensor, and an Idle Speed Control system, along with a host of other emissions features. Go to www.fc3s.org and download the service manual if you'd like to read up on them.

Go to the Home Page, scroll over "How-To's", scroll over "Manual", click on year of choice.
