Need A Engine

Where would be the best place to get a rebuilt or j-spec engine from? They have to be able to do port work cause im wanting a half bridgeported or maybe even as high as a PP motor.I'll rebuild my old engine when the other motor is swapped in.This car won't be for the street.Thanks.

Most places where you get Jspec's just sell them stock...i have never heard of them porting the engines or doing anything performance wise on them period...now their have been instances where a modded Jspec was removed and sold from a car over in Japan but as far the company doing the performance work...thats new to me....hope i could be of some help...and oh yeah as far as Jspecs go...all the companies are a risk...some engines are good and some are bad...BEST THING IS TO GET IT REBUILT...but if its just temporary then i guess u make the call....I might be wrong...just trying to help....anyone correct me if im wrong...

If you want to make that much power, my suggestion is to find a local shop who is experienced. There must be someone in Michigan. The reason is you then have someone you can complain to, and someone local to ask questions/support you.

Based on many threads in this forum, buying a "high power" engine via mail order is just a bad idea.
