Need electrical help ASAP!!!

ok i have absolutly NO IDEA what the hell is goin on with my car but im so pissed off . ok so ....

First problem: my dummy lights, and my heater/fan/defrost unit are not working along with my whole console its kinda working but its like only showing half of what it should be (ex at 3000rpm its showing 1500) my gas gauge and temp gauge arent workin at all. so question is , is there a fuse that runs any of this i looked at my fuse box didnt see anything that stuck out. ive taken my whole console apart unhook everything plugged it back in still nothing and it all looks fine.

Now before all of this happend (1 hour ago) when i shut my car off all my dummy lights would stay on along with my heater/fan/defog unit, but i could hit my power window switch and it would all shut off, it was weird tho only the wiper switch would turn it off, open a door , turn on a light and it would all stay on keys out except for when i hit the power window switch?????????? like WTF. and when i shifted into 5th gear for some reason my whole console would go dead rpm,gas,temp,oil pressure and sometimes mainly at night with my headlights and running lights on, the would flash lighter/darker SO ANNOYING even if i had my door open my interior lights would flash as well and it would speed up when rpm increased.

so my question is to you PLZ PLZ PLZ gimme some help here im thinking maybe its my ALT a bad diod or something, i thought it at first when my dummy lights and **** would all stay on, i dissconnectd it and it would still stay so i thought ok ALT must be ok, so i go out and buy a new ignition switch install it and **** didnt change a god dam thing. SO What in gods name could be my GOD DAM PROBLEM :;

my main concern is my console i can deal with everything else for another week or so but im goin on a trip on friday so i want my **** to work.

ok i think i have found my problem. well looked under the dash at my kick panel fuse box, relized that the METER fuse was blown suposed to be a 7.5 there was a 15 in there so i put in another 15 & pop, then i did somethin stupid i put in a 30 in & horray my gas gauge was workin i look up OH **** smoke was comin out from under the hood behind my engine i quickly took it out, so now how do i find the problem? no way a 7.5 should blow a 15. im thinking where ever that smoke was coming from could be the cause of the problem a bad ground or something, any idea's what or where the smoke could be coming from the back of my engine????

this is just a shot in the dark i when to the collage today to grab some wiering diagrams for my s5 and low and behold i call back/info about rx7 second gen. it says something like the clips holding down wires where known to make shorts (mostly the ingnition coil power wire) but i would start by looking at the wires that have brakets near the engine bay hope this helps

whatever is smoking is most likely a dead short. Look for worn away covering on wires or any thing that looks melted. If you are feeling brave, get another person to pop a 30 in there and you watch under the hood to see where the smoke is coming from. As soon as you find it, pull the fuse to prevent further damage.

Never ever ever ever ever put a larger fuse than the stated value.

Putting a larger fuse is asking for a fire.

The meter fuse power the reverse lights, the gauges, the cruise control, the AAS, the suplimental cooling fan controller, the Logicon, the CPU, and the Clock warning panel.

If smoke was coming out of the engine bay , you probably have shorted reverse light wires.

NEVER PUT A LARGER FUSE THAN WHAT IT IT RATED FOR.

WRITTEN RIGHT ON THE FUSE BOX COVER: USE THE DESIGNATED FUSES ONLY
