Need a clutch opinion....

ok... most of you know my clutch slips, and you've been gracious enough to help thus far...

here's the thing...

The car has 87k miles on it.... the previous owner NEVER shifted passed 4k rpm... so I had to clean the 5-6 ports....

should the clutch be slipping at this point? or do you think its just out of adjustment? and also, Haynes dones't really go into detail if the FC has an inspection hole, or even how to adjust the cluth properly..

thoughts concerns? thnx

it's probably hosed.

it's not so much only 87k miles, but it's the years and years.....

There isn't an adjustment, per se, because it's a hydraulic system (wow I cant spell), so it adjusts itself.

You can adjust the pedal, but unless the clutch isn't fully engaging, then it isn't going to help.

But if the clutch doesn't 'catch' until JUST below the top of the pedal, then the pedal adjutment may do you some good. I believe you need 2 10mm wrenches to adjust the threaded rod. It's been a while tho, so you may wanna check the FSM to be sure.

it depends more on how he drove the car. even if he didn't drive it hard, doesn't mean he's good at driving a manual transmission car. if he slipped the clutch a lot while acclereating and shifting, it could wear it out much faster than normal.
