need clutch diagnosis

Last Monday, my clutch stopped working. I did some searches and figured it was an internal problem. I dropped the tranny today.

1) Clutch fork and throwout bearing appear to be fine

2) About half of the fingers on the pressure plate are bent in towards the clutch disc. Would this prevent me from shifting? (clutch plate not disengaging from pressure plate?)

3) I haven't removed the pressure plate and clutch, YET. I need to get a flywheel lock on Monday to do this.

I want to fix this problem myself, so any info would be great.

See previous post for troubleshooting already done: " HELP clutch problems"

Most pressure plates when tightened down, the fingers will drop to some degree. Don't know why only half of yours are that way. You should be able to hold the flywheel with a wrench on one of the pp bolts while you loosen the others, or use a large screwdriver through the flywheel teeth to hold it, or under pressure plate as a wedge. If someone else is available, have them hold a socket on eccentric shaft bolt.
