Hey everyone I recently ordered a set of stainless steel braided brake lines for my 1988 RX7 GXL. Shortly after the seller asked me if I needed 11" fronts or 21" fronts? I have no idea what I need, I told him its a stock 88 5 lug 4 piston front caliper and he said he could not tell me and to ask a stealership. I dont have a local Mazda place though so any help is much appreciated. Yhanks

 

I would imagine that the "11"' ones are for the four piston calipers with the hardline and the longer ones are for the single piston units.

Personally, I prefer the longer hoses and deleting the short hardline no matter which caliper is being used.

 

Ok well Im gunna tell him I need the 21" long ones then. Hope they have the same threads on the fitting?

 

The long ones will not have a female end.
They'll have a banjo instead, usually the hose kits will come with suitable crush washers and banjo bolts.

 

Ok looks like I need to take a look at the rex tonight and figure out which set I need, thanks man
