i still have the original tape deck and speakers and such in my 88 rx7 so i am going to be buying and putting in a cd player. i was also wondering if it would be worth it to just get new speakers and everything and kind of start over. i'm not too mechanically or electrically inclined so i would probably take it somewhere to have the stuff installed.

any suggestions as to how i should go about this? for example, what type of unit to buy, type and size of speakers needed, is the rx7 complex for this type of work, etc. etc. i'm a college student so i don't want to spend tooooooo much money. i would appreciate any input. thanks

 

yeah you should get all new speakers but you going to have to take the amps out b4 each speaker, they are not compatible with the pre-amp outs on after market steros, if that doesn't work you'll have to rewire the care for the speakers thats all

 

Get a radio harness, that way you only crimp the same color wires. You should go with new speakers if you are still using the OEM ones.
