Need advice on buying CLUTCH

I am in need of a new clutch soon for my TII. Was wondering if I should just go with the Mazda OEM clutch or spend some extra money and get a Centerforce clutch. I've heard GOOD and BAD things about centerforce, buts its gotta BE better then a stock mazda clutch at LEAST RIGHT?

Buy an act clutch. I've heard alot of bad things about centerforce . I just bought an act street/strip from jason at the rx7store. Good prices and good service.

I never owned a car with a performance clutch in it...can you guys tell how HOW it feels? Like clutch pedal feel and does it make the car harder to drive?

if you plan to mod and upgrade your car get the ACT clutch since it will be able to handle more HP. if you are going to keep your car stock, there is no reason why you would need to upgrade your clutch.

If you go with an ACT street/strip setup and the stock flywheel it will feel very much like stock.

I bought a CEnterforce dual friction clutch kit and loved it.... at first. It started to slip at high power launches this last summer. Later I had to change my tranny, when I got the tranny off I noticed some of the centrifical weights wer missing. I still don't know where they are. I am going to get the ACT cluch and a lighter weight fly in the spring.

DO NOT BUY A CENTERFORCE! I blew 2 discs apart in the last couple months. I now have an ACT Extreme w/ a stock disc, it's a little stiff but grabs great and hasn't blown up. The HD will probably work fine though.

I had the CFDF in my car and I didn't like the soft feel of it. I finally replaced it with the ACT heavy duty pressure plate and clutch disk. I also ditched the heavy a$$ stock flywheel and installed the 9.5# flywheel. Two months later and I'm still very pleased with this setup. The ACT feels very positive. It requires more pressure to push it in than the CFDF, but I like it that way. The 9.5# flywheel is the best. Not a bad thing to say about it.

Clutch??

Have been reviewing your posts ... I have a '88 NA 'vert and am putting a '87 T2 Tranny, Driveshaft and Diff in ... I have a stock T2 Clutch n flywheel to install, but wondering, if I should upgrade to lighter flywheel and more HD clutch ... looked at the Racing Beat$$ catalogue and I cannot afford $365 for light steel or $430 for aluminum and still not be able to get stronger clutch and pressure plate ... is the ACT more affordable and how light is too light for a street and autocross flywheel ???

the stock TII clutch will more then handle your N/A engine. don't waste your money on an aftermarket one.
