well i was driving my 87 t2 around last night and while in second the revs got to about 6000 and all of a sudden the started shuddering and i heard a really nasty scrapping grinding noise from somewhere in front, under the car. it also seemed like it was holdin the engine back as the car was shuddering and losing rpm. this happens in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd but i dont want to test 4th cause i dont want to go 130 mph while this happens. when i rev the car in neutral it does not occur and when in gear with the clutch depressed it does not occur either, only while moving and upper rpms. other than that and in normal driving conditions the car drives great. its weird cause the night before i was out drivin the car hard and it was all good but after a couple of high rpm runs the next day it occured. anyone have any ideas?
