na vs. ls integra

well some kid at school is calling me out he has an ls integra with and intake and some knock off exhaust with 180,000 miles. my n/a is stock is it worth puttin $50 up on or am i just throwing money away?

classicauto 10-24-07 03:37 PM

If he can drive then you'll probably lose.

It'll be close though.

And threads like this = fail

RoninRX7 10-24-07 03:38 PM

throwing it away. I lost to an LS integra 5 speed when driving my 90 S5 vert. We put $20 on the race and with my best launch in my stock car(with a K&N drop in) i lost by 2 feet. His car had an intake and upgraded clutch. you will lose unless he sucks at driving.

flamin-roids 10-24-07 03:40 PM

There are thousands of threads like this. They usually end in " I lost. What can I do to make my car fast?" Just don't race him on public roads.

TweakGames 10-24-07 03:49 PM

make it a drift competition pretty sure you can win that 1. :D First person to hold a donut for longer then 5 seconds wins.

sideways spanky 10-24-07 05:09 PM

well hes not a very good driver as far as i can see. and i wont ask what i can do to get faster i know n/a's are more fro daily driving im in the process of getting a turbo swap now. but i donno i might do it i guess ill let you know.

micah 10-24-07 05:51 PM

I whooped my friend in his 97 Integra GSR in my 91 NA Coupe.. Learn to drive. :)

KhanArtisT 10-24-07 05:57 PM

Your car can beat a 2nd gen but a 3rd gen you will lose to. Assuming that both cars are running 100% and both drivers are equal.

/ thread

Go to google, type in 0-60 and select I'm Feeling Lucky. Use the database to find out if your car is faster, truth is both cars are slow as hell and thats why this thread sucks.

Idrinkalot 10-24-07 06:16 PM

It's just an LS with intake....It would be really close probably down to the last few yards

Same here!

Although my 91 had a RB header/pre silencer, HKS 50mm catback, and HKS filter. LS integras were three or four cars behind by third gear; GSR and SI (DOHC 1.6) were tougher to beat.

LS's are DOHC 1.6, same specs as the ZC

RX7freak08 10-24-07 06:32 PM

I think you will have a good chance. Trying going lower on the money like 20 dollars. Why I got a quote on Ronin is because verts are heavier than a regular rx7. Now a exhaust rarely does nothing to a car especially intake. I looked up what it said and that car makes like 142 hp and 127tq and I think you might have a good chance. You may have more power but he has the better weight on you. So your choice.

Like I said it would be down to the wire. LS's have low end torque but you have a good chance of catching up at the end. You'd have to keep up the revs passed 5 or 6 grand the whole time to catch him

Huh? LS's are 1.8s, hence the "b18b"

Idrinkalot 10-24-07 06:47 PM

oops i stand corrected....but isn't the 1st and 2nd gen Ls 1.6? KNONFS said the Si's were tougher to beat than the 3rd gen LS...if Si's are 1.6 and Ls's 1.8 then how could the Si be harder to beat?

nineteen83rx7 10-24-07 07:13 PM

nope, earlier gen had a b18a. still 1.8.

as far as the si: vtec baby. haha.

GSR and si civics have it, LS/RS tegs dont.

villin 10-24-07 07:15 PM

no the ls's are b18b non vtecs with long geared tranny's. the si however is a b16a with vtec with a closer range tranny. only the 1st gen teg's came with the 1.6 but that was th d16zc. the ratios and power differences are why the si would be harder to beat.

86inthe530 10-24-07 07:16 PM

I raced a 95 eg with a ZC swap in my 86 na and beat him by like 3 feet the cars are even a modded ls would smoke a na. And get 28mpg doing it

Well if his car still has pop up headlights, then yeah, youll win, those did have 1.6's but thats way way back.

gettin second gens had b18a, 3rd had b18b.

i doubt anyone with a first gen integra would actually race people tho....thats just silly.

villin 10-24-07 07:45 PM

^^ lol youd be surprised at what people around will try to race with.

danielson 10-24-07 08:56 PM

i raced my brother in my 1990 intergra ls he was in his 91 seven and i beat him pretty hard.

i had an intake, exhuast and an exedy stage 1 clutch.

he had a shitty exhuast, slipping clutch and non working 5th and 6th ports.

yes you will get beat just because the rx7 is heavier even though you have more hp and torque.

BrettLinton7 10-24-07 09:13 PM

hey OP... why don't you post on n/a only?
the admin's sister has an integra *hint hint* :lol2:

K!NCH 10-24-07 09:18 PM

It would be a close race if you're equal drivers. Maybe take off your doors, hood and gut the interior before racing so you can loose some of the weight

Acesanugal 10-24-07 09:20 PM

Did anyone even mention the year of the integra?

It'll come down to your launch, most likely.

There goes all of his top end power. And top end power is about all Rx-7's have.

Never raced anybody but I would have to say that the low end for my Seven sucks. I doubt you'll be able to pull on him unless you're shifting at redline.
