NA/Turbo engine porting questions

I need help understanding this aspect of engine modification. What can you do to a 2nd GEN non-turbo engine to make it produce more power? And how about the 2nd GEN Turbo engine?

What is bridgeporting and streetporting?
What the heck are we porting?
What's extrude horning and can that be done to a rotary?

Last but not least, from the ENGINE only standpoint, how much HP can we PUSH an NA engine to max? And how about the Turbo Engine? (I'm talking ENGINE only power, not bigger turbos etc)

I anxiously await the replies from the RX7 GODS...

13b n/a without nitrous max 350hp this is a high revving engine it power is made in the 8000 to 11000 rpm range. not drivable on the street. very high idle and no bottom end torque.

13b turbo 350hp. i would explain porting but you can just go to mazdatrix.com or search on this site.

No way in hell you can get 350hp out of an NA 13B.
ROSHX-7 - Check out http://www.rotaryengineillustrated.com/ for info on porting.

Yes, you can. But the engine would be a peripheral ported nitrous fed monster. Probably wouldn't idle below 2000, and would be completely unsuitable for the street.

go back to school and learm my child.

in the early 80's a 1st gen race car in aussie was making 342Hp at the flywheel from its injected 12A PP. 13B PP's have been known to make upto 380HP

Red face

speedracer,
obviously you let pops and sparky work on your car and you have no knowledge of the engine. a 13b pp and race port exhaust without nitrous can see 350+ hp. you may want to read a few books on building a race ready rotary engine. you and chim-chim should read up on the rotary engine together. a mind is a terrible thing to waste.
later,
