NA aftermarket LSD's

NA aftermarket LSD's
so i been trying to find a full TII rear. but for around 4-500. not worth it with 100k or more on it.
so i been looking at some aftermarket LSD's for the NA housings. OBX is like 320 and is goes up from there. they have really come up in quality since they have started. so im not worried about that. but are these "aftermarket" LSD's for the NA case equal to, or stronger than the stock TII's? whos running one here???
best part to me is that it would be NEW, not used...

If you want a clutch type, get an S4 LSD and rebuild it, if you're insistant on getting something aftermarket, there's a KAAZ option. Then there's the Miata Torsen option which will hold easily 250whp+ in a Miata, so it shouldn't have issues with an NA FC.

i have a 91 coupe with a TII motor that should make 500. i also have a TII trans...
i been trying to find a TII rear, but the people that have them must think inside the casing is a pot of gold. so a stock NA rx7 one just will not do. how strong are the miatas LSD's?

If you're going to have 500hp it's probably best to have a clutch type diff, as the Torsens do get fragile at higher hp. I'd also not waste money upgrading an NA diff if you're wanting that much power, as you may well end up having to upgrade later on when the NA diff breaks. If you baby it it'll last, but if you abuse it then its lifespan will be limited.

i was thinking about doing the 8.8 ford swap thast most v8 guys do. but for the cost i could have a TII rear built.
i dont abuse my car on the regular. but its a definite that the car will be launched hard at the track more than a few times.
so has anyone run a aftermarket LSD here? search "rx7 lsd" on ebay and see the OBX one. thats what im looking at.

I'd be very weary of those OBX diffs, as that type of diff is weak by design (use of those relatively small worm gears), so the only way to make them last and survive is to use top notch materials and machining techniques combined with excellent quality control, exactly the things that companies like OBX cheap out on to get those prices.
For that power level, if you use an NA diff, use a rebuilt S4 clutch type diff or the KAAZ. Even a real Torsen probably won't be strong enough, but you can usually find one for around $400 or so, check the Miata.net classifieds if you insist on going that route.

I'm in the same boat and debating what direction to go. I recently found this kaaz diff that is supposed to drop into an n/a diff. I'm really considering this.
