**********Series five don't have knock boxes do they???? Only series four? Right or wrong? ************* Meaning the knock sensor output on a S5 goes to an internal component of the ECU unlike a S4 that has an external knock box.

I have one of these little black boxes in my car, and lying around somewhere I have sketch of the wire layout and wire colours for it from when I was trying to figure out what it was. There is no similarity between its wires and those of the knock box.

Just fro minterest, if you have a knock box lying around, open it up and compare it to the photos of the mystery box's internals previously posted.

And you're right that S5's don't have knock boxes, the knock sensor's connected directly to the ECU.
