n332 peak and hold????N338 AFM?

I have 2 questions. im have 2 different ecu for my turbo swap the n332 the turbo ecu and the n338 the vert ECU. the N338 will run the car but it idles high and surges, with the na afm it seems to run better, i havnt taking it for a drive yet so im wondering if you use the n338 ecu should you use the NA AFM and turbo MAP??? Next question the n332 ECU run good if the resistor box is removed using low impence injectors. With the resistor box it runs terrible. I dont have an oscilloscope so i was wondering if anyone knows if any of the rx7 ECUs came with a low impendence style driver. or if all ecu are high impedence style and need the resistor box to up the resistance. Ive searched and only found information on high impendence systems.

basically here is what you have going on.

pre 87.5 the cars used low impedance injectors. The circuitry (ecu etc) was a high impedance system. The resistor box was added to make the desirable impedance to the injectors. Meaning that if you have the later high impedance injectors in your originally low impedance car, you can just bypass the resistor box.

Both the 338 and 332 ecus are not from the pre 87.5 cars. These were N326 for the non turbo and N318 for the turbo models.

The turbo maf and non turbo maf are also different same with the pressure sensor.

if you can try to run all the turbo related N332 numbers.

The high idle could be a number of other problems including your TPS or a possible thermowax issue. Mine runs great but idles high (~2000) sometimes. Othertimes its dead on at 750. Haven't had time to look into it.

I understand the resistor box being added to make low impedence injectors work on the high impedence system but....... I have low impedence injectors in the engine(2.6 ohms for all injectors) with the resistor box it runs bad. with the resistor box removed and wired around it runs good. About running turbo components (map/ afm) it seems to be better with the turbo ecu(n332) but the na ecu(n338) seems to like the Na afm, of course i would have to use the turbo map being that the Na may be confused by boost. Ill try driving around the block with the Na AFM and tell you guys how it runs also ill see if i can get my hands on an oscilloscope to check out the injector firing voltage pattern

What boost/pressure sensor are you using. The output values are different for tubo boost sensor vs non turbo boost/pressue sensor, at idle. Heck at any rpm when you get down to it.

I've no idea why the solenod resistor isn't acting right. See if they ohm out to six ohms or not. Put one meter lead on the center wire and the other meter lead to each of the other wires when checking it out. Should read six ohms at each of the FOUR wires. Resistor packs plug removed from the harness when doing that.

Im running the turbo map sensor. I will ohm out the resistors. I believe i alrieady have and it was good but ill double check. i also am thinking about checking the entire circuit to see if there is high resistance somewhere in the circuit. Still leaving the question are there any 2nd generation ECU set up with low impedence fuel driver??

no, not really. the low impedance injector cars all ran the resistor box.

86-87 ecus are n332 turbo and n326 na
87.5-88 are n333 and n327. vert is n338

n318/n319/n340/n374 are the jdm ecu's

the only real difference is the injectors resistor combo...
