N1 Duals and stock manifold?

Is this possible? Or do you have to change the manifold to have it bolt up?

Also, does anybody know if each one comes with a cat? I'm looking to pass emissions still, thinking about junking the 2 pre-cats for a downpipe... or would that bolt up to the duals?

The Apexi N1's you refer to are only a "Cat-Back" exhaust. That means that they start from the catalitic converter. You will pass emmisions just fine.

P.S. If you were refering to the MT Dual exhaust it is a full setup and does not include a cat.

Well a downpipe(racepipe as its pften called for NAs) will bolt to the stock exhaust manifold. Then depending what brand you get should bolt to the stock cat or to a presilencer(racing beat) or something like that. As far as the N1s go, they bolt up to your stock cat.

Yeah, what I had meant was the Apex'i N1 Dual system, the two seperate pipes. Didn't know if it went to the cat, or the exhaust manifold, they don't really have an explanation or pictures... thought maybe you guys had a good response. Thanks 1987, helped a bit. But does that system bolt to the manifold?

The Apexi N1 dual exhaust bolts to the last catalitic converter not the manifold.

it has two seperate pipes that bolt up to a little y pipe, which bolts to the last cat.

PERFECT!

Thanks for that answer, no idea where it would have the Y pipe. Do you know if this is packaged along with the setup? Or is it a seperate order?

Well stock, your car will have 2 precats and one main cat. "Catbacks" refer to everything from the cat back. So it will bolt right on to your cat and includes everything from there back. Also, includes the y-pipe, yes.

Nice, thanks. Now, does a DP go from manifold to cat, so you only take out the pre-cats?

right, DP goes to the main cat...for NA owners you could eliminate the Y section Apexi provides (a very short Y) and make your own true duals (maybe it wouldn't sound as bad as the mazdatrix setup).

Yeah, but I'm looking to still class Stock in CACC/CNAC rules... so no headers, and all emissions (precats don't count, I think?)

Do I still pass emissions without the pre-cats? (Thus, can I put in a DP and still pass this year?)
