N/A to TII swap. need help

I put a JDM TII engine and tranny in my S5. The engine and tranny is S5. I put a USDM wiring harness on it changed the ECU to a N374 and the AFM as well. I haven't found a TII pressure sensor yet but I have been told it will run with the N350 PS for now. Anyways.....

The damn car won't start. Floodin the **** out of it. Obviously its getting fuel. It's getting air and I checked the spark which is good. I'm stumped. I mean the sparkplugs are soaked and they are new. What do I do.

Pull the injectors and check send them off to be cleaned... A good place to do this would be www.witchhunter.com so check em out... The grommets could have dry rotted from sitting around in a junkyard...

You make a fuel cut switch and cut the fuel off. Then start the engine and flip the switch when the engine starts. You might try some starter fluid in the afm/air filter for about 2 seconds before trying.

You also might try to put some light weight motor oil in the sparkplug holes prior to trying the above. This assumes that the timing isn't waaaaay off. Also with the lower plugs out spin the engine and feel each hole as the engine spins over and confirm that they both feel the same and there is no *empty* spot on one of the rotors inicating that a seal is kaput.

So I will rephrase:

Have you or your mechanic done a compression check and if so, what were the results???

Apparently the compression was bad, it was at thiry!!!!!!! in the front and 60!!!!!!! in the rear. Bad bad bad bad. So I put some oil in the housing to try and bring back the seals cause I figured it might be bad because it had been sittin so long. The compression is up to 110!!!!! front and rear. SWEAT!!!!! Then I remembered someone on this forum had told me to reverse the fuel lines because JDM is backwards and that doesn't make sense to me so I put them back the way I had them and the damn thing fired right up!

One problem though. When it starts its at WOT and it won't idle down. NOW WHATS WRONG. Anybody have any suggestions?

Throttle cable isn't attached because I don't have a TII cable yet. Good suggestion though thanks.

Fuel lines backwards should have the opposite effect... there should be no gas.

So, when you say it is not idleing down... what is it doing??? Starting and staying at 1500 RPM or 7000 RPM or???

13b4me: no i dont have a throttle cable attached right now. I haven't got one yet.
Icemark: It is staying at about 7000 rpm, I think I know whats wrong now but it is too late in the evening too try anything, with no exhaust hooked up I think my neighbors might be a little pissed if I started it.
I might be wrong in what I'm thinking so if anyone has any suggestions let me know.

k, idle problem solved but man is this bitch smokin. I put in about a quarter to a half cup of oil in each rotar housing. Figured that would have burned out by now or does that take a while. I noticed there is oil in my intercooler.. Is that bad? Could the turbo be leaking oil into the intake?

1/4 to 1/2 CUP?!

You're supposed to use a tablespoon or so in each... You're gonna be smoking for days man...

Rotary ressurection said about a half cup dammit! This sucks.....LOL my neighbor almost called the fire department yesterday it was that smokey. Is oil in the IC ok or is that bad. I remember my old turbo coupe would have oil in the intake hoses and it never seem to hurt but that was a 4Cyl turbo engine not a rotary. Not sure.....not sure....

Blowby will cause oil residue to build up in the intake... Since you're not running emissions, ditch the charcoal canister and get a catch can...

I am running emissions though, I haven't capped anything off. Catch can? Just catches the oil and you drain it every once in a while or what. <---- never done it

What causes blow by? I thought weak compression would but I'm up around 110 psi.

I'm afraid of that, you see it is a low mileage engine (around 25K) BUT it has been sittin for a while. LOT ROT. Hate that ****. Rotts out all the seals. I might be lucky I was able to bring back the apex seals with the oil.

Engine has calmed down, hardly any smoke but it will probably take just a little bit longer to get all the oil out. The oil in the IC has subsided, only a film now on the walls. Good good good, but now the water pump is leaking, hahahahahahahahahahaha, if it isn't one thing it's another. Next time I do the swap, if I do, I'll make sure and check and change all this ****. Hey it's a learning lesson. Thanks for the help guys.
