N/A to T2 Conversion - Fuel Pump Wiring

Hi guys,

I am doing an S4 T2 conversion on my 86 FC right now and am in the process of wiring in a Walbro 255 lph fuel pump. Now I've read the threads on wiring up T2's, but those have the resistor packs. I've also read the threads for the N/A's that say connect it to a switched +12V source at the fusebox, but that would leave it constantly (in case of an accident, flipped car, etc). I've not come across an N/A to T2 conversion writeup though. What I was considering doing was the following (please view picture as well):

-Wiring in a relay with the power wire connected to the battery, 15 amp fuse.

-Using the original stock N/A fuel pump +12v wire (black with white stripe) as the +12v switch source to turn the relay on.

This should retain any fuel pump shutoff features the car has, right? Or am I missing something?

Thanks

Eh save your self alot of pain

and make this as simple as possible
I ran a NA fuel pump on my TII conversion and did not have any fuel starvation issues

with the walbro just hook it up to the stock + cable
and ground it to the chassis

...bump...

Anyone else have any thoughts about this, or any suggestions (including whether or not my idea would work)?

you should just be able to use all the stock wiring. just hook up the new pump to the stock wires, and everything should work like the normal pump, except a bit more fuel.

dang, I switched to the stock TII pump, and I was running a little lean. then I switched to the walbro, and I now run a little rich.

I installed mine by just replacing the factory pump with the walbro. You will also need a good FPR...

That should work just fine. Although I just put a turboii in place of the n/t pump and all is well. Monitored with a wideband from OZ.
