plugin play NO... it can work, but you will either need to rewire the wiring harness or go standalone. The dash harness doesn't plug into the s5 ecu... Even then I "think" you'll have to premix.. not sure though.

standalone isanywhere from ~$500-1500, If your good at reading the schematics and soldering then you should be ok to rewire...

For someodd reason, I think your search for "wireing" us going to get few results...

Yes, you can put an S5 t2 motor into an S4 car, and visa versa, you can put virtualy ANY motor into ANY car.

The dash harness doesn't plug into the s5 ecu... Even then I "think" you'll have to premix.. not sure though.
you will not HAVE to run premix if you swap to a t2 motor. And what does that have to do with anything?

wireing will NOT be a huge issue, you can either go standalone (very pricey) or just buy a T2 ecu, and call it a day.

there will not be THAT much cutting and slpicing.

How much money do you have saved up for your engine swap? if you have enough, just get a frontclip and then you have ALL of your problems mostly delt with.

front clip as in JDM front clip? that's got its own set of problems... like a good chance of a shitty motor

you WILL NOT have to run premix if you do not want to. Although its better lubrication for the engine.

There will be a few things that will need rewireing depending on what you keep from your s4. Check the FAQ, i remember Icemark posting some links about what exactly is required, and what needs to be swapped.

Most JDM motors are in better shape than USDM motors - less wear and tear.

I know plenty of people with JDM motors than ran perfectly fine when they got them

Heres why a frontclip is good. you get ALL of the wireing harness, its a full longblock, you get tranny, and d-shaft and a RHD dash, wich can be sold later if you want.

V8slayer, PM boostedrex, hes selling his t2 motor, and its in awesome shape, with a recent rebuild.

i gots 2 g's and i think i saw somthing on switching front plates? becous one is mech. and one elect. so i dunno ill search but if anyone has more info PLEASE add ur 2 cents i want full idea before i do it. my biggest things are

1. avoid premix
2. wireing (easy way/tactics)
3. things to look for (anything thats a common prob. with this swap.)

The dash harness from a s4 will NOT plug into a s5 computer. So, if he wants a straight plug and play then he would need to get s4 engine... The OMP is electric on the s5 and he would have to run premix unless the swaped to a s4 front plate...

you just kinda have to use s4 to s5 and the n/a to turbo sections. It would really be better to find a s4 motor!
