I have seen some people talking about N/a auto and TII starter motors being interchangeble. Is this true? Will it mess up if I swap one into the other? Has anyone done this? I seem to recall seeing separate part numbers for an auto and TII starter which is the reason for this thread since I am still skeptical.
Thanks

They both bolt up the same way...the solenoids are in the same position and everything. The auto starter has a bigger, stronger motor, for turning a torque convertor full of trany fluid. The t2 has a slightly smaller motor.
So, you can probably get by with either one...
However, I would not try putting a t2 starter on an auto car...it may crank a little slow.
