Mystery wire to a n00b

Mystery wire to a n00b

Yes I searched, and came up nodda.. I have a wire bolted to the firewall under the vin stamp and its lookin obviously like a ground... its black and bolted to the firewall.. still has a long bolt attached to it and we just bought the car like this and dont know where it goes... PLEASE help we are trying to solve the 3800 stumble and sure thats the main problem seeing as we just did a ground kit as per the FAQ walkthrough and didnt work and we keep going through good alternators every 15 minutes

Top of the tranny bellhousing, right side of center, just aft of the rear engine housing, you should see a threaded hole. A 10mm bolt attaches the end of the wire there...

If you have the UIM off and can access the rear rotor housing ground stud (you should see the two terminals bolted down there from the harness on top of the engine), just run a new ground wire from that point to the firewall (you'll be accomplishing the same thing as the original jumper wire, but electrically have a better ground potential for the ECU). If you still have the stumble after this mod, it definetly ISN'T the ground...

so just reground with some 8ga. and bolt to the rotor housing.. can anyone throw up a diagram on where to bolt it in? i know absolutely nothing bout RX7's sorry

In that case just route the wire to its OEM spot- at the back of the engine on the tranny...

Read my first post, I gave you the OEM location for S4 NA's...Don't know what yours is. In any case, anywhere back there you can find a spot to bolt her down, do it. Make sure the metal surface is clean, of course...
