Mystery? maybe...

so i was trying to start my car at 1am on saturday and it usually takes 2-3 times turning the key in the ignition before it turns on. but this time the dashlights turned on the first time and didnt turn on the subsequent times after.it wouldnt even click and i couldnt hear anything...and for a day and a half i was trying to see what was wrong with the car( i had check the battery, the battery terminal connections and the starter motor had been replaced 1 month ago and i checked those connections as well.) i thought it was a short but i couldnt find any blown fuses or bad wires and my brother said to try push starting it. i thought it was a stupid idea because i thought that a push start would indicate a bad starter motor, but when we tried it sure enough it started and now it starts just fine...wondering if you guys had any idea what it could be, maybe something that indicates a more serious problem i should be preparing for or something. thanks alot.

A) you have a load on the battery (any electrical add on accessories such as lights and cd player) and over time it has been draining your battery and finally drained it enough to where it woudlnt start, thus push starting it alowed it to start and your alternator to charge the battery up again.
B) your alternator and/or battery is weak (take the batter and alternator to local parts store to get load tested)
C) your starter temporarily locked up (happens sometimes, usally tapping it with a hammer will fix that while trying to turn it over) or your starter motor is starting to go bad. will continue to start for a while but every once in a while it will do that.
