thanks everybody. yeah im planning to get some wheels but is going to be a later thing, i really need some wider tires on the rear, i break traction easy but still fun, right now i have to get a winter beater because winter is around the corner and defenely im not planning to drive my rx again in the snow ever. i just got it back last week because for the last 2 months my friend was getting all the dents, fixing the rust and painting it. but next year should have wheels. im very happy with my car right now, this is the best rx i ever had and there was sleepless nights and sweat and tears. i thought i was going to loose her but i brought it back to life.

cliff: you will get your ride on it dont worry. i have to drive down there one of these days.
ben: you need to come up here one of these days

nice. needs some moderately flush wheels and aggressive stance and it will be set. potential magazine coverage with that.

Just out of curiosity what's up with the "Rally Armor" decal? Did you get something custom from them, or did you just have an extra decal lying around.

I'm in the middle of this same project with a 1988 gtu. I have the engine and the tranny put in already. I ordered another oil cooler and I'm doing coleman's dual oil cooler setup as soon at the steel fitting for the engine arrive. I stuck with the stock second gen radiator and I'm having a terrible time putting the bottom hose on. I bought flexible tubing at advance auto and figured I could shape it into an S shape that would fit but it's just not working out. Did you have any problem with this? I converted the twin turbo to a single turbo and after I get all the hard ware in I'm going to start wiring everything. So far this has been one thing after another due to the pain in the *** radiator.

well i tell you the truth dont even bother with the 2nd gen radiator unless youre going with a koyo with a modified bottom because you will never will get the bottom line to hook up plus is probably going to cost overheating problem if you dont modified. i had to drill 3 3/32 holes on my thermostat because it was a pain to get all the air out of the engine. i had to go for a 3rd gen radiator and all you have to do is modified the stock 3rd gen mounts to fit.

as for the seats, they are coming. im right now saving money for a winter beater

the harness is almost easy, you have to add the map sensor wires other than that they are almost the same as the 2nd gen one. of course you have to get the 3rd gen plugs of the body side of the harness because you will never hook the PFC with the 2nd gen one. i might do a write up about it. it just going to be long and is going to be a pain to explain everything

it dont need no sides or diffuser . it looks clean and simple already . straight sleeper in my eyes . plus that money could be used to get some more meat on the rear for that traction . great job man for real. against the odds you pulled of a great build

Alright I got the wire harness 90% in. I have a couple questions regarding the rest and you should definately do a write up when you have time (hopefully before I mess something up. I'm guessing you relocated the battery, if not I can't find it (what black magic is this?). Next....

#1 What is this?

#2 Your box doesn't look like mine. Makes me nervous. Did you use the second gen? If so... why? I already mounted the 3rd gen up by the radiator. I'll grab a pic tomorrow.

#3 What is this?
#4 What is this?

I have everything in the car, dual oil cooler setup added and complete minus two fittings which are on back order so I should be okay in the cooling department, hopefully. If not I'll bite my tongue and buy an alluminum rad. I'm currently relocating the battery and deciding where to mount random boxes and wires. Ecu is hooked up, working on the rear end wires also.

1: Leading coil
2: Looks like the main fuse box from a 2nd gen
3: Trailing coils
4: Possibly a remote mounted oil filter, but upon closer inspection it looks more like some sort of catch can.

+1. I like it the way it is, because its almost like a factory car. A hybrid between an FC and an FD, with a fully functioning FD motor and twins.

This confuses me. Why did you use the stock fc coils? Also where did you get your apexi ecu and how much did it cost?

4 is a catch can

(quote)This confuses me. Why did you use the stock fc coils? Also where did you get your apexi ecu and how much did it cost?(quote)

because i used the body harness of my FC all i had to do is adapt the 3rd gen plugs so i can use the PFC. i got my PFC from rotary performance with a base map of what i have. ari helped me alot to set it up because i had problem starting it up and i gess it was the ECU just getting adjusted with everything

another note i want to ad. the fuel pump relay dont work with the PFC. at lease on mine, i tried everything and dont work. i have mine running with a relay and turn on with the swich.

i still have the stock oil cooler and i dont have any cooling issues on the oil. the oil pressure stay pretty stable even underload. my car is more of a daiily driver than a racecar that was my purpose.

I did the dual oil cooler setup to hopefully make up for the fact I didn't go after market on the rad.

Oh no. I used the third gen wiring harness. I plugged the headlights, and headlight motor in last night after splicing and soldering the plugs. I'm currently working on the big *** blue plug that normally goes into the third gen stearing wheel in order to find turn signals etc.

I have had issues with my fuel pump also. Problem still not resolved but I'm camping out and looking for an apexi fc atm.

Another question: 3rd gen = electric speedo 2nd gen = not

How are you working your speedo?

i have turbo II tranny, you dont need the 3rd gen tranny. the turbo II and the 3rd gen tranny internally are the same. flywheel, clutch on the 3rd gen are the same as the turbo II. the pressure plate is different. and i dont have no issues with mine holding the power

Well I got the tranny with the engine and the kid already had an act stage 3 clutch in it and a lightened flywheel so I just went with it. What exactly were you talking about when you said "why did you change the drivers side harness? I have a jdm brew engine and tranny and I ran the whole wiring harness in. Oh also, what did it matter if it's single turbo?

i just think is double work specially youre are going single. is nothing to get mad about. everybody have their own projects. that what makes us unique

Little ressurection here, I'm planning on getting a Feed Lip as soon as I go FMIC and I love the way your intercooler is mounted, just wondering what size this intercooler is, and what you used to mount it? Brackets, etc, thanks man.
