Unhappy is my TPS bad?

i'm trying to check my TPS using ohmmeter but everytime I unplug the connector to test it, first my rpm would jump up and down then after a few more seconds it dies. i know its not normal that the car dies but is it normal that rpm jumps up and down?

Uhhh.. You do realize that when checking your TPS the car should be fully warmed up BUT turned off ...

If you're checking using the two light bulb technique your car must be turned off but the key will be on.

It sounds like your TPS is way out of adjustment and it is hunting.

If you're checking the way I do it can be done at idle or with the car off and key on according to the factory manual. See here....
