my shorting problem
i have an 88 n/a recently i have been having trouble with my electric. My cd player is cutting out, it will start doing it about every time i turn it up and after that it will cut out like every five sec also my battery went dead yesterday i charged it back up and no problems untill now, after the stereo cuts out i look at my volt guage and its reading almost 16 volts, normally its reading lil under 14 volts do i have a short going at my altenator or maybe even my starter....i kindof need to find out fast because i am starting a new job soon and i dont want this holding me back.
thanks for any resonse,

this sounds like an issue with the wireing on your stereo, is it a new install? was it done yourself or at a pro shop?, either your ground is not grounded correctly or the memory and or pwoer wire(s) are hooked up wrong.. you can find info on hooking up a aftermarket stero in the faq,
