My sevens survived...and a question

Hello all,

I havent been on this site in about 1 year. Last december my house caught on fire, it was totally gutted and I barely made it out alive. what a year.

My 3 rx'7s, two of which are an 88 gxl, and an 88 turbo, plus a perfect 84 gsl-se, all survived the fire, without a scratch. I lived in an apartment for several months while I rebuilt my house, keeping my cars in storage.
Ive been home now for a few months, all is rebuilt, better than ever and my cars are running and shining pristine.

If I can offer advice to anyone... get a fire extinguisher, one in your garage and update your alarms, etc.

Ok, on quick question. On my 88 gxl, I needed to recalibrate my tps, so I attached my test lights to green connector, etc, adn it seems only ONE side of the green connector works. I know each side is connected to one of the solenoids, and thats the clicking sound I hear when adjusting.

-- What is the common prob when this occurs ?? Im thinking test the actual solenoids, etc.. although I know other people have probaly run into this same thing, so any advice... is appreciated.

I adjusted the tps by backprobing to 1 volt, so it should be adjusted ok, but I still like seeing the test lights switch on-off. ha

thanks all

happy to be back

welcome back, question though, do you actually lose money from a house fire or does the insurance cover most of it?

I suppose it depends on what kind of insurance you have, the company and the limits your policy has. My homeowners insurance covered me to the max,and it has paid for everything. I must have also had help from above, the house looks better than ever now.

My homeowners doesnt cover autos, that would have been covered in my auto insurance policies, a seperate entity alltogether.

thanks for the reply

I second the bit about the fire extinguishers loud and clear. I work 5 minutes from my home and one day about a year ago saw a garage accross the street from where I work go up in flames and it took the fire department forever to get there. In the flippin Twin Cities for God sake.

Think about all the stuff you do to your car where you could accidently ignite something...
