NY my project fc build

i bought an 88 rx7 se (cuz i didnt want to ruin a gtu or turbo II considering wat im might to do in the future. also no sunroof was a plus for me). bought it bone stock in decent shape. just the typical rust spots, broken interior, broken door handle. mileage was pretty high tho, cant remember it off the top of my head. none of this really didnt matter to me. my plan was to build an na rotary, gutted, drift style car...and then eventually swapping out the motor for a 7m >.< (nothing personal against rotarys but i just dont have the money for a tII swap and i wanted to do a crazy swap).

Parts/ Mods:
Gutted interior, removed sound deadning, ported throttle body, no a/c, hks air filter, hks hi power muffler, emissions blocked off (i kept the bac), s5 taillights and side moldings, apexi safcII, walbro 255, trust/grex counterweighted shift ****, s5 shifter, nardi steering wheel, racing beat headers

Future buys/currently saving for:
Koyo radiator, aem wideband reader (waiting on my next paycheck for those 2), Bride Zeta III (i really want a set of Zeta II tho), Stance GR+, Rota p45r, RC injectors, new brakes, sabelts/takatas 4 point harness (probably wont be buying them anymore tho, dont really need it)

Currently working on:
bondoing rust holes, por15, painting the interior. wiring, wire tucking, new hoses, gaskets

pics :]
when i first got her

Save money on the fuel pump. You simply do not need to upgrade for an NA stock port motor. Porting the TB is not the same thing (doesn't require the upgraded fuel pump regardless).

didnt have access to dry ice i used a screwdriver/chisel and a hammer. then whatever tiny piece left i sprayed wd40 to get it soft scrubbed it away. i shudve waited to do it now tho when the deadning gets hard instead of the summer

Good info here and nice project. I will have a nardi deep corn one of these days. I want a 350mm! Looks like you're off to a good start. Port job on the tb looks good. Did you fill in the holes for the butterfly shaft yet?

project is on a slight hold. getting ready to move to my new apartment and im commited to my "daily driver project car" (took the car off one of my friend who bought the car out of spite cuz he knew i love z's...he dumped it cuz he didnt like it ..eh its mines now ^.^). right now i need to fix up the z31 to get it off my friends driveway (not the same kid. the one who bought it left it in our friends driveway. his mom is getting a little tight about having someone elses car on their driveway so thats where i come in). anyways as for the 7. me and my friend is going to look for a garage to rent for our project cars. im gonna spend this time to save up money for parts.

pics. off topic. no 7s but theyre still oldschool jdm cars.

<img src="http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm63/jonnellemonzon/IMG_1539.jpg">
my buddy's 87 ma70 supra and my rusty P.O.S. 87 z31 "daily driver"

<a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/albums/mm63/jonnellemonzon/?action=view&current=IMG_1537.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm63/jonnellemonzon/IMG_1537.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
leaving the back gutted. putting in a 5 point cage and 4 point harness (i found that the driver side seatbelt was held together by a ziptie. saftey issue). either sabelts or takatas which i found a really nice deal on. probably gonna buy both and save the takata for the 7. the steering wheels a p.o.s. so im putting in a nardi in this one too. just waiting for the hub kit.

<a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/albums/mm63/jonnellemonzon/?action=view&current=IMG_1530.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm63/jonnellemonzon/IMG_1530.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
my friends supra project car. turbo swapped, lowered on coilovers. hes planning to do a 1jz swap. im hoping to grab the 7m motor from him to swap into the rx7. our thing...i rock the nardi. he'll rock momos. im bride and hes recaro. it keeps our projects interesting.

<img src="http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm63/jonnellemonzon/IMG_1540.jpg">

ooh cuz every ricer team needs to have one. its a staple. our "team" needed/got one too
<img src="http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm63/jonnellemonzon/pos240.jpg">

note* he bought another 240 and is selling this one. if you live in staten island/nyc and you want it let me know. tranny is dead. theres a bad rust hole on the strut tower. its automatic. stock. runs but wont rev past 4000rpm. its basically a pos so he selling it for $100-200. he just needs it out of his driveway. good for a parts car. if no one buys it, me and supra kid are taking this car off of him just to beat it up drifting till it blows.

Grabit

does anyone know if this tool actually works? i saw it on a commercial once. thinking of using it to get all the rusted bolts out especially on my frame rail. either that or get a dremel, cut slots on the rusted bolts and use a flathead screwdriver

Those style of screw removal tool are good for really low torque where you just can't get a good grip on it. On a rusted seat bolt, it'll snap the tool. Use PB Blaster to break some rust, dremel to clean the hex/slot and then vice grip it into oblivion.
