yo Max, thanks for the props. I just took a piece of posterboard traced the shape of the four individual sections and there was my mold for the fiberglass. ill keep you updated on some of the future designs. i would love to make some rotor shaped design.....we'll see though.

that design is the suck... youre better off making the horizontal bar in the middle and the frames match your car, and then tint the lenses all black.. then they will look like Long skinny rectangles that wrap around the side

So do you guys have any suggestions on how my next taillights should look. And no i do not want any S5 lights. That is the whole point of me modifying my S4 lights, plus everybody has them. Who wants something that everyone has?

or come up with something entirely original. My plans for redoing my lights are coming into creation after I find out what the law says about how big they have to be, and any shape restrictions. Once I do that, I know what hasn't been done yet, and I'll probably go for that (unless of course it hasn't been done because it looks ugly).

tex rex let us know how them lights go. i want some lights that will one day make people change back to the s4 lights and not those s5 tails the whole world has...originality people.....thats what is wrong with 7 owners, they dont have an imagination and when somebody comes up with an idea its rice, dont make no sense to me....all the people are trying to do is better the RX-7, which is the whole point of owning a car as beautiful as the 7.

 

A lot of people are purists. They like the natural beauty of the car from the get-go. I am one of those for the most part, although reverse scoops hoods, certain body kits, and rims are things I am a fan of. Not HUGE wings, crazy *** rave lights inside your car or any rice stuff like that. 80% go 20% show. I'm moving to waco in july btw, goin to Baylor

 

s5 tails.. it would be hard to make something better than them..

its a good clean job and is different and all, but not on a rex. but i bet you could think of something better.

 

i think alot of 7 owners are purists... thats why we upgrade our cars w/ factory OEM peices, like T2 brakes and sway bars and LSD's and S5 tail lights and manifolds and turbos.

honestly, you really cant do much better than the S5 tails.. i think they are the predecessor to the 99 tails that all the FD guys want; behind the general shape of the smoked tail light lens are the round lights you seek to duplicate. and the turn signals, which i always thought were triangular cuz it wrapped around the side of the car, are also round. i think these are some of the baddest assed tail lights to ever hit the US shores.

it would be even Badder assed if someone had the ***** to hack up a set of S5 tails to fit some of those LED semi-truck trailer lights in them.

my GTUs is one out of one hundred, so i am not going to do any irreversable mods, but if i had a GXL or GTU, id totally be down w/ some custom lights. keep thinkin up designs man.

Actually the four round taillights were a feature on Mazda rotaries for many years, starting with the RX-2.
Taillights don't "coagulate" with anything. You need to go look that one up...

I think that if you went with S5 lights and blacked out all but the circles then you will be in business
