My new project problems...
First of all, those of you that are about to get jealous, please don't. I'm just a lukcy *** ****.
Today, I was driving home from work and not even a block away from my house, I see a old, but decent looking FC for sale. I call up the owner and the owner comes out immediately out of no where to meet me up. We chat a little bit and he gives me the scoop on the car.
He bought it as a daily beater 2 years ago. Salvage title due to a $100 fender damage that amplified to $1500 in all storage fees. The shop salvage titled it as a retaliation to the owner. He bought at the shop to fix it up himself and make it a weekend project. But then, it happened to him like it happened to the best of us, no money and no time to finish or even work on the car. And also just in time, the transmission went out on it.
So he had it parked on the street about a month. Put a small for sale sign on the window. No interest. Best offer he got was $21 from Pick and Pull. I told him that I had 3-4 of these cars and was looking for a project to work on one. Then he just says, "It's yours then. Just take it before it gets towed."
!!!!!!!!!!!! What a freaking lucky day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He brings out the title and now the car is in my drive way all at the price of $FREE.99
Specs on the car:
1986 RX-7 GXL
Salvage title
79k miles
automatic
no rust, starts up fine with a little smoke
tranny is shot to hell, won't even budge at all.
Congratulate me fellas as I will be participating in discussion with ya'll once again.
