my new project

well i'm kind of new to fc's i have been on this site for about three years now but not in this section i have been wanting an fd for a long time and had been researching them for the longest time and i finally came to the fact that i probably couldn't really afford one right now being 17 and no job. well now i found an fc tii for 300 dollars. full car has no bad dents motor paint is kind of bad but fixable. i have been looking on this forum now for a couple months. i should be getting the car later on in the week. it's been sitting for six months and i was wondering if any of you guys can bring up anythign that might need to be chaanged after sitting that long so far i've got:

oil
oil filter
coolant
fuel
fuel filter
battery

after i look at those i am going to do a compression check on it and check out the seals then if that turns out ok i'll take the intake off see if the turbo spins or not then try and start her up. basically i need to know how to do the compression check if anybody has a write up on it. i know there is probably one somewhere but i didn't see one. neway thanks for your info in advance

i would also go with replacing your belts and most of your hoses and things such as vaccum lines and fuel lines as well. as well as the spark plugs and wires

new intake filter would be nice so it can breath more healthy, also they say castrol gtx oil is the best for rotarys, it BURNS properly, and it BURNS CLEAN!

If you only replace one peice of rubber in the whole car, replace the heater hose that goes from below the oil filter, up, and around to the firewall. It is the most failure prone hose and nearly impossible to get a replacement in a hurry (like when it blows on the road during a long trip.)

to do a compression test buy a compression reader and its going to screw in where the spark plugs go so your going to place it in and turn over the enging (if it turns over) and it should give you a reading and stay at that reading make shure the car doesnt turn on if it does shut it off right away and that should be it and check all of them and right it down find out what should be the normal conpression reading for the TII

thanks for all of the good info guys. also i was wondering wether or not i should put some of that stuff that breaks up the carbon in there for a while and let it soak up or not, would that be a good idea or should i just see if it will turn over first.

Castrol GTX oils are conventional oils, not synthetic.

yea i'm a lucky kid and i know it my first car was a beat up peice of caca cavalier. then the car i drive now is an old 84 944 porsche. going to high school in that is a very boost in self esteem hehe. neway i have been researching sevens for about four years now originaly i wanted a third gen but i think everybody wants one of those then one day i saw this turbo II and fell in love with it. this won't be the first car i've rebuilt so i'm looking forward to it. i also race in the local scca events. so i'm not all that new although i am 17 hehe
