my new guages

i was searching to see if anyone did this, and i haven't seen it on any FC's, so i decided to post my ash tray guages... i'm gonna make a plate for the bottom part so theres not this hole where the ash tray used to be, check it out

looks pretty cool eh? fits great, got em for i think 35 at pep boys... they had white ones, but they looked tacky with the black holder thing, they were only 30, i figured 5 bux more isn't bad... i somehow broke the bulb for the voltmeter so i gotta replace that... which means a new bulb with wires already attached since these aren't ur typical replacement bulbs... no biggy tho, easy fix

btw those guages aren't actually mounted right now, they r just sitting in there, i got the lights hooked up, and the temp guage... the oil pressure will have to wait till i get back to WA and can get under the car, and the battery will wait till tomorrow

yeah, I like the night-rider look. I left the red on mine, merely for the sake I wouldn't get pulled over. For the s4 tails it's either all blacked out, or black out the clear and orange and leave the red. IMO.
Although if I had a choice I'd get some s5's and change 'em up a bit...

Personally I think the ash tray is far too low for gauges. The lower down they are, the longer you're not looking at the road. They should be where your head unit is, with the head unit below them.

With some different head units on the bottom you may find yourself having to drop into the lower shifter gates to change cd's. Just a thought.. might want to mount the gauges even higher.

It's a little tight with the stock shifter in 1st or 3rd. Minor inconvenience only. With a short shifter or CD changer it's a non-issue.

well, i got my pillar mounted guages too, boost and AFM on the pillar, those r the ones i look at most, the position of the temp/voltage/oil pressure is fine, i don't have to look at those during a trip down the strip lol

all u need to make a plate is a piece of black plastic and an exacto knife... wouldn't be worth ur money to pay me to make a plate that should only take half hour at most to make

Actually I was talking about driving on the road. Nobody's coming the other way on the strip...
