Going to end up sparking the 'why you shouldn't have a 5 point harness without a roll cage' debate. Are those things comfortable?

the seats are comfortable for me and im 6'3, you can buy seat covers for them either black and red, black and yellow, black and blue, or just black but they cost more than the seat does so i thought id wait alittle for them

take that harness out or get a rollbar man, if you rolled, u can't slide with those, the roof will crush you.

do you think the seats were worth it? Are they that much better than the factory seats? I only ask cause I've never sat in that type of seat. Pics of your car would be great. thanks

they can be. in short, if you flip your car stock belts are ment to allow you to move with the cars movement to a certain point, letting you lean to avoid the roof smashing your head if it collapses. 5 points are made to hold you straight up, what will be keeping the roof from crushing you if you dont' have a rollcage?

Who cares how they look... it's how they feel- it's a seat.
The pic isn't full though, need another.

yeah, I rolled one of my old rx7's... don't ask how... and if I was held in place better with 4 or 5 point harnesses, the roof probably would have crushed my head when it smashed. its scary even thinking of that now.

you think it won't happen to you, but it could. I didn't think it could happen, and even after it did happen, I didn't really believe it untill like 3 days later. and it happened around this time last year, when I was a junior in high school.

maybe you could talk your dad into getting you a roll bar as well

no, the seats have nothing to do with it. It's just the harness, without a rollbar, they are more dangerous than your stock belts for you.

Get a rollbar, there really not alot of money, and they make your car look really nice also imo.

your harness straps that go down the back should always be mount no less the 45 deg to the horizontal.

ie do not mount the shoulder straps to the floor by the bottom of the seat well.

rather mount them behind the bins or onto a rear strut tower bar.

DO NOT MOUNT THEM TO A STRUT BAR. Those bolts holding the strutbar down are not safe, and odds are, neither is your strutbar strong enough.

Uh......Roll bars are meant for racecars. try cracking your skull in a fenderbender because of it..they are meant to be used in conjunction with a HELMET! RAce seats and rollbars are POINTLESS and DANGEROUS in a street car. PERIOD! Lost a friend due to this, rear end by a old lady in his miata with a hard dog roll bar...smack goes the head, lights out, he never woke up, if you put in a roll bar pad the HELL out of it..

the seats are jegs high back seats and i was looking into a 4 point roll bar, i did just get the cp racing rear strut tower bar and i have eye-bolts into the floor with those rock climbing clips attaching the two rear points of the harness to it.
