Question Is my motor fried

I bought a 87 GXL with 181,467 miles. Ya I know it has a lot of miles for a rotary but it runs great. The only thing is it smokes(white) for a couple min. on cold starts but then runs great. I was told last night my motor seen its last days. I just cannot see how becuz it runs great(but has a slight miss). If my motor is fried I am just goin to drive it until it blows but then I am goin to put a entire T2 drive train in it so any help or leads would be appriecated. Thanks for the help. The turbo motor I plan on putting in this summer will be street ported, t04b, front mount IC, 680cc primary 720cc sec and a rewired high output fuel pump. Does this right? I also heard there is a trick I can do so I dont have to switch the computorsd. Well thanks Dave

Look between your housings.....

More specifically, on the spark plug side of the motor, look at the seals between the aluminum and steel housings. Take a close look everywhere. If there is gooie stuff or oil oozing out, changes are you have blown oil seals. I have heard that this will not affect engine performance, but will cause the engine to burn or lose oil. So I guess your car could run a couple thousand miles more if this is the problem. I think there may also be some mechanic in a can for the oil seals, but I havent heard much about it.
