MY Horror Stories

Driving home the breaks go out. check the fluid it is empety. put some in and a mile down the round no brakes again. Crawl another mile to ntb. Also when the car stalls or turns off suddenly it has to sit about 30 minutes before it will start up again. what is with that? Alternator is good and the battery is good but the car dosent hold a charge well. After start up sometimes i feel a jerk/hesitation at around 2400-2600 rpms but goes away after a while, even when i warm the car up for 3 to 5 minutes. I also have an extreme shake at about 70 mph.
Ive only had the car about two weeks im kinda regreating it but that first week and a half of driving was all worth it.
Brakes are getting fixed
the suspension wil lbealligned when the car is painted next week
i think i fixed the electrical problem
now what about the hesiatation and the ruff start ups i donmt know what to do

Simple hydraulic leak. If it isn't fixed yet, look in the engine bay, and follow the brake lines down, you're leaking somewhere, and at this rate, it WILL be obvious. Fix the leak.

Do a search for "hot start" or "hot start problems" and start going over some of the diagnostics in those threads. I think there may be a link to some solutions in the top of this forum, in the FAQs.

Have you adjusted your throttle positioning sensor (TPS)? and checked for vacuum leaks or the like? I'd also check your throttle linkage.

This is definatly an alignment/balance problem. Sounds more to me like a balance problem, though, make sure they balance your tires when they do the alignment.

Yeah, these cars are a damn addiction It doesn't sound like you're having THAT much trouble, you'll get it in order pretty quick, and you'll be enjoying the road once again.

As for the car, it sounds to me like you're in for a FULL tune up. Do a search for 60 thousand mile tuneup, and do all of the recommended maintenace. change all the fluids, change all of the vacuum tubing, check your engine grounds, new belts, plugs/wires, etc, etc, etc.

Good luck, and welcome to the club.
