my headliner is down and...?

ok so i took my headliner down just now because i need to fix my sunroof. when i try to open it it just makes a clicking noise and lifts up on one side. i can get it to tilt somewhat but not very much. i have no idea what to do next. the FSM isnt very visually helpful, and it didnt explain it all that well. any help would be great. i was out until about 4 AM this morning so it probably wasnt a good idea to start a project like that.

so it seems like one side is trying to slide but the other cant. i thought at first that maybe it is just stuck in the track and i need to fix that but now im kinda thinking that maybe since the lifter on one side doesnt go up all the way it could be blocked from sliding back. does that sound reasonable? lemme know if anyone has any good ideas . im going to sleep for now but ill be back to check it out later tonight...

thanks,

Matt

Your title should have had something to do with Sunroofs, not headliners. You may not get many replies with title like that

I have now replaced two sunroof assemblies 1 each on both my cars. I have not even bothered trying to fix them. If you can get a whole sunroof assembly from a junkyard for 50-75$ that is a reasonable price. To verify that it works. Before pulling it from the junkyard car use the crank to open and close it completly a few times. You can reuse the inside and exterior panels from your car easily enough.
