my G-tech times

still doing things to my car but last night went out in 68* weather and pulled
16.14 @ 91.4mph pulled quite a bit of wheel spin though off the launch

130hp with a wieght of 3000lbs that included my 210lb fat *** (time for a diet)

my car is a 87 sport
right now all i have is a header / presilencer, bonez filter, and replaced that stupid intake ducting. and I was running a little 2 stroke in the gas also

also I am having problems with the plugs since they are a little dirty and I keep popping my trailing wires off. there is a nasty exhuast leak at the moment also.

all in all my car has 176k miles on it

how do you think it is doing so far with what I have done and how many miles I have on it?

oh yeah forgot

it seems like the 6PI system is opening late

at around 4300-4500 rpms the car just jumps a little bit more then normal

even when using the G-setting on the G-tech I see a jump of about .02-.06g's at that rpm

shouldn't that happen at around 3800rpms ???

and how much do you think I could cut off if I put a hole in my rad support and moved my filter out there?

already have a straight pipe for the intake rather then that bending flex junk

You could probbally hit mid 15's. I have a 90 and I hit mid 14's on my S5 with a 50 shot on a bad day. I think I need boost But the turbo's seem like alot of work so I am trying to find a used S/C for it. I figure 8.5 lbs and throw in the 75 shot and I'll have an easy 13 second car. 16.1 isn't bad though. Friend ran 16.3 at the track with just a K&N. Still slow though. Hondas run 15's.....

bro, you should be at mid-high 15's, work on your launches a little. a 91mph trap speed is pretty good, ya just need to work on the launches to bring down the ET. Swapping to a Series 5 intake manifold would yeild you some good power for the $$.

IMO, take off your intake, port the **** out of it, mod your tb, yank out the sleeves if they aren't working right or if you go with a hedder. take out as much weight as you can, if all you are interested in is et's, junk every option not absolutely needed. upgreade the clutch, higher gears, flywheel, tII tranny, lightened driveshaft, dump all excess weight, run $3 of gas at all times, or less, get a turbo, or get a turbo, I have a na i put way too much time and money into and read posts from tII owners and want to cry when they say they can get 230rwhp for $300. whoah !!!!!

my 87 sport began to fluctuate et's with the same RT
well i should have noticed by that ... it was on the verge of loosing compression in the rear rotor !
compression checkz are vital!!!
bro and we have just about the same mods...

learn where you yield the most power in the rpm band to shift ..sounds like your just shifting a bit past redline when your power has dropped atleast 500-1k rpm earlier

I don't mean to sound negative, but I don't trust G-tech's as far as I can throw them. (Even though I could probably thow it pretty far... errr)
They always seem to read VEERRRYY optimistically.
When my car was running 15's at the track, the Gtech said I was running mid 14's.
The MPH was also WAYYY off, like 100 mph for a 15 sec run!! Even by my own speedo I was only running 85-90!

Currently, I've seen 13's on the G-tech, though I have yet to get under mid 14's at the track, at 94 mph. 60 foot time of 2.3 sec... gotta work on that.

It seems to be more accurate in other cars though, was running side by side in a buddies honda a while ago- our cars were almost dead even at the time, and he was showing high 15's, with the same unit.
I attest it to rear end squat- something 7's do a lot- the downward angle "enhancing" the G-tech's time.
I add a second, and knock off 8-10 mph from my times. (or glance at the speedo when the G-tech flashes)

I am shifting past the redline but it so far seems as though I am making power up there
I know I need a dyno run to be sure but just what it feels like
