my front speakers dont work...
i've had my 89 gxl for a few months now and just realized the front speakers dont work in the car. the two speakers in the towers behind me work fine, just the front ones dont work at all.
think its something in the headunit? or the speakers?
is there anyway to test?

Sorry to hijack but I have something a bit similiar...
My door speakers, aren't working at all as I have some components I'd like to put in it for now they are in the towers but they aren't sounding as good as they could in the front to have all 6 speakers blaring would be MUCH better!
Is there a amp I'm supposed to be bypassing or something of that nature? The components I'm using are Alpine Type-R's 6.5 w/ Tweeter! Alpine CDA-9885 or something (the $400 one).

I bet the problem is with the amp. Our cars come with a crappy factory amp seperate of the head unit. If you have new speakers it almost always overpowers the amp causeing not as good sound. Many times if you install a new head unit, the amps arent turned on. When I got my car the rears were fine and the fronts didn't work. I tried everything until I discovered the front amp. I just ran new wires (it takes about 5-10 minutes and a drill for the pass. side speaker.) It might take a little longer if you have door speakers, as I think they run of the front amp as well.
