not to be rude or anything, but is that spraypaint? It just looks like it in the first picture cause it looks a little uneven, or it could just be bad shadow(s). Also I've never seen a metallic car paint other than spraypaint.

Why no front grill?

- Eh, I didnt like it, so I hacked it out of there. It came out nicely after the paint job. I like it a lot!

- No, its not spraypaint. I got a cheapy job at Earl Scheib to hold me over for a couple years til I either get a new car, or wanna get a REAL paint job. And yes, that is horrible shadows on the car, and my Kodak DC50 isnt exactly the best camera either. I dont know what to say if you have never seen metallic car paint, but, a lot of cars come from the factory with metallic paint. Only difference is, you have to look close to see their metallic, when mine practically slaps you in the face. I will try and get better pis soon. Sorry bout the quality guys!

Looks good. Don't worry I can tell that in the first pic its the reflection And about the grill, are you going to put like a mesh grate behind there or no? Thats what I plan, can you get some pics from the very front, head-on? Thanks alot.

Looks Great. The first picture is just a reflection which means it has a nice glossy finish. I would like to see it from the front as well.

Good job!

Yeah how much did that cost you? My car needs one bad. It has sun scolding everywhere. I want to get a good paint job but I don't have an abundance of money. I was thinking maybe MACO or somethin but I don't know.

Well, first off, thank you all for the compliments, it makes me feel good about the paint job. I will have MUCH better pics tomorrow. My brother in law, who has a nice digi cam took about 35 pics today. And a few were head on. I think I did a dang good job getting the grill out. I used a Dremel tool, and it took about 2 hours. The paint job cost me $550, with some bodywork added in there.

Now.....get this........there are literally like...2 or 3 slight blemishes. The manager tells me....."Bring it back in 3 weeks, after the paint has had a chance to cure a little, and I am going to repaint the whole car again. I am not happy til you are happy. And, that is an extra coat of paint people dont normally get!" I was like "HECK YEA MAN!!!!" ahhah Anyway, if you have anymore questions at all, post them, and I will get back to ya. I check this thing like 5-3,400,970 time a friggin day. Seeya!

Paint shop...

Looks like an Earl Scheib job.....I just had mine done there the other day and it turned out very good for the price..299.95 + 40.00 per door jam. I got the black metallic..and it has alot of metal flakes just like yours. So I was just wondering?....got my 87 rx for 2500.00 and really didint want to spend alot for a paint job...I did all the body work myself...dropped it off at 8 am and picked it up after work the same day.

Later...

I've heard that the bottom lip of the bumper will be flimsy and sag when you do that. Have you noticed that at all, or is it good on yours?

I dont know why someone's would sag. There are bolts underneath that part that bolt into the car. It shouldnt be sagging. Anyway, here are a couple more pics to help get a good look at my paint job.

That pic is from like 2 ft away, so you can see where I cut the posts at.

oh yeah, I like the look of the grill the way you have it, but weren't those things designed to act as a reflector for thrown objects so they don't destroy the radiator?
