Unhappy My FC o_0

Ok, I'm a noob...

Now that that's clear, I do my homework (for the most part... classwork is lacking atm cause im looking for parts )

I have searched this forum, the web, all but the dealership (trying to avoid dealer).

Where is a RELIABLE apex/master rebuild kit bought from?

I work at autozone, and sadly... apex isnt even listed.

Also, I *think* the car has a coolant leak. As it smokes at start-up. Nothing a good ol' fashioned rebuild cant solve... right?

Where do i look to see if the coolant leak is causing the smoke, its being put back together (soon i hope) so i can see for myself what the smoke looks like.

Also, I'm a HUGE fan of forced induction. Anyone supercharged their 2nd gen that would like to share pics and knowledge?

Any experience with them? I'm just cautious ordering off the net. I've ordered stuff from ECStuning.com for my VW, no problems. But I've heard horror stories about some 240/300 part suppliers. Just would like a no BS 'yea they are great', or a 'NEVER BUYING THERE AGAIN!' response.

please!

Yea, I'm looking at maybe buying a TII. Im told j spec TII's need work to run, and some fabricated wiring harness.

Also, ignition control modules... from Autozone, its 700$+ for front and back. That about right?

I have purchased parts from all three of those vendors and they are all great in my book.

I used the Atkins rebuild kit. Very high quality.

A word about Autozone: Not a bad job, keep it while you're in school. The things they sell on the floor are convenient and useful. Some parts behind the counter (like gaskets) are good, but be wary of Chinese parts.

On a bright note, you may be the only person at one of those auto parts chain stores that doesn't try selling me a head gasket for my Rx7.

Not a worry when buying off Mazdatrix, they have a really good reputation and do some great work. They also have some really useful stuff.

If it smokes at start-up, but the smoke pretty much stops after a minute or so, then it's probably just leaky fuel injectors.

Look for white smoke coming out of the exhaust, usually increasing as the engine warms up:

1Gens, but you can still get the main idea:

http://www.aeromanagement.com.au/blown3rotor/news.html

FYI
Easy/Cheap: Sell your NA car and buy a Turbo II.
Most common: Install a J-Spec 2Gen RX-7 engine or a self-made turbo kit.
Not so common: Install a J-Spec Cosmo 13B-RE or a 3Gen 13B-REW.
Outdated but still available on Ebay: Camden Roots supercharger kit, Paxton centrifugal supercharger kit, Cartech turbo kits.
Does NOT work: Junk yard Eaton M90 supercharger (too small).
What I would like to see: Lysholm (aka Whipple, Opcon Autorotor, etc.) supercharger, or Eaton TVS supercharger.

Er, for another $200 you could get the new Haltech Platinum Sprint 500 that controls both fuel and ignition, or spend just a little more money on a full-function standalone EMS.
