My Cel Light Is On

i drive for about 10 minutes and then the cel light comes on. my o2 shorted out so i discanected it. will not having the o2 sensor hooked up through a code???

also how do i check codes on a 89 turbo II series 5???

Yes it will.

At the front driver's side of the engine bay, near the ignition coil... there is a one wire green plug. Take a piece of wire and connect it to the negative battery terminal.

Go in your car and turn the car to "ON" (but don't start it)

The CEL will flash...
Have pen and paper with you.
A long flash is a tens digit, the quick flash is a ones digit.

Then download the Factory Service Manual from www.iluvmyrx7.com and see what each code is... more than likely it is the O2 sensor though.

What happened to the O2 sensor? The wire was grounding or the sensor itself was messed up?

Didn't you have a thread earlier today that said something about will running your car with no O2 sensor plugged in mess your car up?

Dude... just fix the damn wire. It's not that hard. Be more specific with the actual part that is grounding and somebody would tell you how to fix it.

its the dam sensing wire that grounded the one that connects to the o2 sensor. it is grounded
