my car stalls when i make a left turn
when i make a left turn my rpms fall to zero but the engine remains reved like it is in neutral or somthing and then it kicks back in. does anyone have any ideas? also i dont know if this is related but if i have the throttle wide open and it hits 5k rpm it stops and stays at 5k but if i let the petal about halfway of the floor it runs smoothly. plz let me know if u have any ideas on how to fix it.

my car has, somewhat the same problem. If i'm making a turn (either direction) and i'm over 4k rpm's no matter how fast i'm going, my car will just all of a sudden drop dead.........once i straighten out the power will kick back in. I found this out one day while i was drifting in the parking garage at work.......my car died and i straightened out and the power really KICKED back in and made me almost hit a wall, twas scary but i survived, lol.
My friend said something about bad grounding, you know, the wires and stuff but i'm not so sure, anyway i'll keep my eye on this thread and if you find anything out, pm me.

another one here. if im taking off at a stop sign or something and get on it hard through the turn itll completely bog and lose power till i straighten out and get back on the gas. that gets to be dangerous when your trying to pull out in heavy traffic. i cant think of anything that would cause it though. maybe just a loose connector somewhere that moves and loses its connection in hard corners???

yeah but a bad fuel pump would be as sudden as this is. its literaly on and off like turning a switch. not the ussual spitting and sputters for a few seconds then dies like those with fuel cutoff switches.
that's pretty wild, and i thought that only my car that did that, must be pretty common with the FC's. Take a look at the wiring harness on the drivers side of the engine compartment right down around the streering shaft. Mine had been rubbing on the streering shaft and eventually rubbed through the loom and the insulation of about 4 or 5 wires causing them to ground out againt the streering shaft intermediatly ( like when turning ). They are a total pain in the *** to get to if you have power steering because of the pump but after I repaired all the wires and tied the harness up out of the way of the steering shaft.....problem sovled !!!!
Try changing your fuel pump filter, the one in the tank. Usually the symptem of having a clogged filter is hesitating or bogging around turns, usually left handed turns. Good luck.
its located under the car by the tranny on the driver side.... at least mine is! haha..... Do you have the rx7 manual.... I use that a lot... it helps me out whenever I get in a slum about something....
I had this problem for a while, but just last night the problem got much worse. I was coming around a hard left turn and had the old power-cutoff problem. When I tried to accelerate again on the straightaway the check engine light came on and the car bogged HARD. I drove her home under 3k rpm.
I started her this morning and the check light was off again, but came on again when I tried to push her above 3k. She won't go above 3k and stutters and bogs when I open the throttle up. Almost like she is misfiring. Also there seems to be a slight hunt to the idle now after the initial warmup.
Thoughts, suggestions?
