i bet the rebuild is easy
This explains why you have to go to school to learn what most people can learn by simply doing. I never said the 13b only. That was you. The reason I referenced the 13b was because you flaunted your knowledge of the chevrolet small block as if it isn't common knowledge to almost any automotive enthusiast.

Reading how to do a rebuild and actually doing it are two different things. I'm sure you know that already. They do teach that at your school, right?

I would stay away from the sarcasm if I were you. It only makes you look more ignorant if you don't know what you're doing.

This is a crazy ******* thread I am a mazda tech at my local dealership. i decide to actually rebuild my 13b. I rebuilt a couple of engines and believe me that **** is not easy. I had the service manual but I still needed a more experience tech that's been doing it for 25 year's to help me out. Its a headache just to get it together. Especially the coolant seals because they twist some times when you are putting it together. So don't its a cake walk. We don't even rebuild them at our shop we just replace them its time consuming and a pain in the *** but if you want a Challenge just try it I got a master rebuild kit through Atkins rotary for about a grand but I guarantee you will be kicking yourself I smoked a whole pack of Newports before I was done so good luck

My car has been running for a week now. Just have to get a new afm.

I have two new window switches and I know how to do a leakdown test which is more than you can say.

Do you really want to bring up these things? I got my car for free with a good engine. You know why? I did a compression test before I put it on the trailer. I also know better than to buy a rotary powered car when I can smell coolant.

How much did you pay for yours with the tired engine?

he didn't start this thread though nor did he continue digging himself a hole by talking about how easy something is that he doesn't even know how to do.

i had worked on cars for 15 years as a dealership technician for dodge and cadillac before i tore down my rotary, it took 3 times to get it right because there is plenty of issues that aren't in the manual that are VERY easy to overlook. just wait until you hear the word electrolysis after finding your new clean engine is pissing coolant again, that you can't mix and match rotor housings with j-spec and a-spec of the same series, that the front cover o-ring has a mind of it's own. i could go on but most real engine builders learn the hard way before even talking to other people about how easy something is.

there is the feedback forum but i do try to get through to people that you shouldn't be doing something that is over your head for other people. if they want to do it for free as a learning process and the customer is ok with that that is one thing. if they plan to experiment and wind up taking money that is another, especially for those working on limited funds when one screw up can wind them up out on the street if they have to cover it.
