Is my 9k gauge cluster rare???

i've looked at a few other local fc's and see that they only go up to 8k.my car's a early 88 GXL model...any info on this would be great!!Thanks.

Only S5 n/a's had the 9k cluster, so it's not as common, but far from rare. How it ended up in your '88, I do not know. I've heard stories of some '88s having a weird mix of S4 and S5 parts... or perhaps someone just swapped it in.

If it isn't an '89, and it actually is an S5 NA cluster in an S4, don't go taking it to 8k to redline. The internals won't be meant to go past 7k.

not rare. 10k is pretty rare.

Forced induction has nothing to do with redline. The S5 NA engine was built with less rotating mass, and therefore was given a higher redline from the factory.

That 10k FEED cluster is aftermarket. It doesn't mean the engine will safely go to 10k by any means.
