You hooked up the amp wrong.
It's probably on all the time and causing the constant battery drain.

btw .. dry cell batterys loose charge quick when not used or having a drain or charge on them .. they constantly need to have a cycle

Do they make an in-car trickle charger for the optima type dry cells, like where you can just plug it into the wall at night or over the weekend?
