you made a big mistake not tearing down a lot of the stuff on the engine and inspecting everything in the rats nest. The REW is a complicated engine. I would inspect all the solenoids and do simplified sequential if you plan to keep it that way. You need to pull the ACV, airpump, and EGR stuff first. Then most of the rat's nest can come out including EGR, double throttle, switching and relief solenoids, hot start/fuel pressure solenoid (doesn't seem to do much), evaporative emissions solenoid. Precontrol and wastegate solenoids could be removed if you plan on an aftermarket boost controller which uses its own solenoid. Then replace your OMP lines or remove the OMP.

Off to a good start. The engine is IN the car. At least it's not all talk like 99% of these swaps.

you answered your own question.

with a aftermarket ECU you don't need to keep anything.

well technically you don't need any actual "emissions" stuff. but buried in there is a bunch of sequential turbo control solenoids. You've got the charge control, charge relief, and turbo control vacuum solenoids mounted in the main solenoid rack. And then you have the turbo control pressure solenoid mounted to the ACV. those must be retained and they most be hooked up properly to their respective vacuum and pressure chambers. the precontrol and wastegate solenoids can be replaced with some other system although I prefer the stock setup of having an individual solenoid control those actuators independently, just like Mazda designed. There's also the main air bypass valve (blowoff valve) and the charge relief valve which vents secondary turbo charge air during prespool. You need those too.

and if you don't know what I'm talking about you better start reading up on the 13B-REW.

yea, cause setting the engine in the engine bay means it's bolted down to something...

he doesn't even have enough money to buy a power fc and plans to swap wires? with what? the stock ECU? heh. yea. i can toss a 3 rotor into an FC engine bay sitting on a jackstand and you would be impressed too? gg.

Seems to me like these swaps are a big waste of effort anyway.
