Mustang wheel fender rubbing?
When using mustang wheels (17x8), where do the front tires rub? Do they rub on the lip of the fender or on the inside of the fender when the wheels are tucked up inside the fenders? I'd like to get a set of the 17x8 mustang wheels, but only if I can get a tire size that doesn't rub under extreme driving (track)with a stock suspension / fenders.

i have 235/40's up in front on mine and i have no problems. They are about even with the fender at rest; but under compression, they tuck right in. Some one messaged me that had 235/45's and they where getting all kinds of rubbing. So i would recomend no more then 235/40, thats as close to stock hight as you can get.
You can go up to 255/45 with some tires for the rear. You could go wider, but thats all that really fits on an 8" wide wheel. I have 255/45's out back in this photo, but since the tires start weighing a lot when they are that big (over 20lbs) im going to put a 245/40 out back. 245/40 is also 'exactly' stock tire hight so it wont throw off the speedo.
im running some discontinued Michelin MXX3's in front, you might want to try to look up the tread and section width of that tire and compair it to the tires you are thinking of going with since these are known not to rub.
