Multiple rear wheel bearing seals?

So I'm prepping the one hub I got out for the new bearing and after getting all the grime off I noticed that there was another torn up rubber and steal seal on the back-side.

I checked Mazdatrix again and the FSM, but there's no mention of that seal, and none of the parts stores I've checked have it in their system. I don't want to remove it until I know it's replaceable, so does anyone know what the deal with that little puppy is?

It's circled on the attached pic.

I'm also still having difficulties removing the stupid DTSS bolt on the driver's side. I borrowed my father's air tools and need to pick up some sockets tommarrow, but it's still siezed on there. If I can't manage to back it off correctly tomarrow, I'm thinking of cutting the head off then using a puller to seperate the rubber and sleave from the bolt shaft, then using a vice grips to get the rest of the bolt off after that.

I don't think it's siezed going into the control arm, but in the bushing sleeve.

Thanks for any suggestions!

There is only one seal. What I can say is that the Mazda OE seal had 2 sealing lips, while replacement seal, or at least the ones I've used, have only 1.

Ah, gotcha. Since the new bearings don't have that second seal built-in, do I have to worry about pressing the new one in with a specific side facing out?

The bearing doesn't contain the seal. The Mazda OE seal is a one piece unit with 2 sealing lips, just a little wider than most replacement units with the 1 lip. Be careful when you press the hub into the bearing. You must support the bearing on the backside when pressing the hub in.

Cool, thanks for the tip mang. I`ll put a socket on the backside so the bearing doesn't shear when popping the hub on
