Muffler/ Exhaust questions

To start off ill let you know that my car is an 86 n/a base and i recently bought an exhaust off my friend which consisted of racing beat heades to a small resonater to straight pipe then to a magnaflow muffler. The magnaflow was really effing loud and kinda ricey sounding so i welded an old muffler on to replace it and now my car is silent, like almost quieter than stock haha, any suggestions to get a deeper sound with the system i currently have? What kind of muffler would give me a deep sounding but not too loud noise?

You aren't expecting an exhaust not similar to a V8 or something out of a rotary are you?

IMO the best you can get to a rumbling v8 is a dual Apexi N1, optionally the Apexi GT if the piping size is a bit of an issue.

Best system (many will agree) is the full RacingBeat exhaust. Header, pre silencer, and twin exit mufflers. Absolutely great sound, I've had the pleasure to experience it in an S5 GTUs screaming at 8k rpm. Its quiet enough to be drivable at normal speeds, and has a nice deep tone with the pedal mashed going through the gears. FWIW, the RB is the best sounding, least ricey exhaust you can get for a rotary. I had a Corksport on my last two 7's (admittedly same engine and exhaust) and while I really liked the sound, it was too loud and actually lost power over the stock system due to it's size.

REAmemiya_fan's dead on with the RB exhaust. Far and away better than anything else IMO...
Pleasant for cruise, deep, etc..
