Most asked question ever?
Hey everybody I'm new here, love RX7s but I could never find a turbo one around here (virginia) but recently I found This and This
If ya dont want to look at the links, one is a TII with 133K for $3950 the other is a turbo with 150K on body and 55K on its rebuilt engine for $3900. These are the only two turbos I've been able to find within 300 miles of my house, do ya'll think they're deals worth driving out to see?

well, if you REALLY want one, go check it out... you can't really tell the value of the car without looking at it... unless it's a super awesome deal... just go out, and make sure you know what to look for when you go look at it... i don't really know what to look for in t2's... but i know, you'll want a compression check, check the body for rust, squeeze the vac lines, see if they're in good condition, ummm... check for leaks of any sort... when you start the engine, open the rad cap and look for bubbles... bubbles = bad... very bad, you'll be looking at a rebuild if you see those... ummm... well, i'm sure there are a lot more knowlegeable people than me here that'll help you out...

The 2nd one (with the rebuild) seems like a better deal.
It is lightly modded, and only has about 20k more than the other T2. The rebuild is definantly a plus, but with those mods it could be more vulnerable to dying on you.
Almost $4000 seems high for the first one. I paid $2800 for my T2 with 129k a year ago, but T2s seem to be appreciating...
Good luck, and if neither look that nice it would be better to wait as opposed to picking the 'less crappy' one.
edit: I just noticed the first one is only 37 miles away, why havent you looked at it yet? Thats real close, remember, T2s are very rare and hard to find. youre lucky that that one is so close

the 3900 one seems to have more listed...normally people who have pride in their car-take care of their car! and in turn they like to brag about their car even to the tiny-ist mod like maybe a tire cap that says RX-7. that guy may also be listing the mods to try to sell the car quicker, soo that may be a good thing. offer him 3k cash when you go out to look at it(if you like it enough). i am sure he will let it go!
on the other hand...the other car may have some nice mods that he didnt care to mention because he really does not want to sell it-his wife wants him to! hahha oh well either way, go check out the cars for yourself and test drive it HARD! and ask a lot of questions...also bring CASH MONEY!! its easier to negotiate with cash because money talks...especially when its in your face.
my 2 cents!
by the way, i buy and sell cars on the side every now and then when i see an opportunity as a hobby...thats how i know.

So 55K on the rebuilt plus lightly modded engine isn't too much? Only problem is the one with the rebuilt engine is 100 miles away instead of 37, oh well, thats only an hour or two of spirited driving. I'm supposed to check the nearby one out tomorrow.

No odomiter reading is a good substitute for a good test drive.
Doesnt matter which has more or less, drive em both and see which one feels better and seems to have been more well taken care of. Care is the key to these cars.
