Question Mosquito Fogger

I installed new plugs, wires and a fresh tank of gas on my 1987 RX7 non-turbo coupe this weekend after a long two year storage. The engine started right up and we head off to the open road and thats when THICK blue smoke came out of the engine compartment, center consle and behind the car.

Could the oil injector gone bad or did I lose some kind of oil seal?

did you check the oil before the trip? and after? that will be key to knowing if and how much oil you are burning in a short trip like that..

Check the engine bay for oil leaks.

How's the oil pressure?

The oil pressure is bouncing between 20 and 30 psi. I check the dip stick and its full with no oil on the garage floor.

they burn oil naturally through the MOP.. but too much may suggest oil blowby.. possibly an exhaust leak getting inside? could be lots of things..

the oil pressure (via the stock gauge) isnt usually totally accurate..

try cleaning the connection on the pressure sender just under the oil filter and see if it makes any difference..

well if it was parked for 2 years, i'd imagine some oil got inside the combustion chamber. Normal. Give it a couple of minutes of running... to burn it off the cats. However, if it continues to smoke, then there's a problem.

The oil pressure is not staying steady at road speed. Its up one minute and down the next.

usually due to the pressure sender.. i wouldnt rule out completely that there actually might be true dips in pressure, but likely the pressure sender is the culperate - they are known for it..

When my NA sits for a long while (only raced it no daily driving) it would smoke screen the whole drive way for at least 2min...Then clear up.

That's why he should inspect the bay for leaks. Hell it could be oil blowing by the oil filter seal.
