more VAC questions

Ok, attempting to finaly crack down and start working on the FD since its dry out and abouve 30 degree's. I have backfire on decel and somene suggested I have a vac leak. From what I can see the tubes are all good, but here is a question.
I have the AC belt on the AC pump, but the AC line by the air filter is snapped in half...don't ask came like that. I never use AC. So should I just remove the belt or leave it on. Could this be my Vac leak?

Wish I had pics, digi cam is at my other house atm,

Also guys, my line from the Air Pump to the Intake kinda implodes under load, it sucks in on itself. Would this cuase the 5th and 6th ports to not operate correctly?

Any input at all would be great, i'm still learning about the car and no of my freinds are into them. Kinda out on my own here.,

A "vac leak" is a leak in the engines intake system. The A/C has nothing to do with that.

If your backfiring on deceleration, check and adjust your tps to factory spec, make sure timing is on the nose, and finally check your dashpot and see if that is functioning properly.

Not to sure how its done on an FD though.. I don't even know if the tps on an FD can be adjusted
